Citrus and mint iced tea

Being a tea lover, I even like to drink hot tea on a hot summer day. I have not appreciated iced tea for quite a while, since I am not a fan of sweet tea and iced teas often contain added sugar. But I do really like the two unsweetened variants I share with you today, especially the Mint and lime iced tea.

Mint and lime iced tea

Ingredients (per glass)

  • 1 glass of boiling water
  • a few sprigs of fresh mint
  • a few lime slices
  • ice cubes, for serving

Bring water to the boil. Put the mint sprigs and lime slices in a glass and cover with boiling water. Leave the tea to cool down for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve over ice and add a sprig of fresh mint for garnish.

Iced green tea with lemon and mint

  • 1 l boiling water
  • 2 green teabags
  • a few lemon slices
  • a few sprigs of fresh mint
  • ice cubes

Bring one litre of water to the boil. Pour the water from the kettle into a teapot and let it cool down for about 2 minutes before adding the teabags. If the water temperature is too hot, the tea will be bitter. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes Рdepending on desired strength Рbefore removing the teabags. Pour the tea into a decanter and add lemon slices and a few sprigs of fresh mint. Let it cool down completely (in the refrigerator). Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint.
